SARAH A. SODIKOFF, L.C.S.W.
Sarah Sodikoff is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified School Social Worker. She graduated from the University of Chicago with a Master’s degree in Social Work, clinical concentration. She graduated Magna Cum Laude in Psychology and Behavioral Neuroscience with her undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Sarah gained experience working in a variety of settings, including hospitals, schools, and agencies.
Sarah treats children, adolescents and adults. She enjoys working with people across the life span. Her specific areas of interest include divorce recovery, trauma recovery, eating disorders and addictions, post-partum depression and other women’s issues, learning disabilities, mood disorders, and attention deficit disorder. Sarah also provides general, comprehensive psychotherapy for adults going through life transitions, depression, and anxiety.
Sarah is fascinated by brain research and how it relates to emotional health. She is also open to alternative and holistic approaches to healing and medicine. Professionally, Sarah feels it is important to stay educated about the latest advances in understanding behavioral health and best treatments in psychotherapy and healing. She believes in the power of the human spirit, and that people can change, grow and heal even after suffering from mental illness or experiencing trauma.
Sarah involves parents as much as possible when working with children and adolescents. Sarah strives to promote a safe, supportive, yet empowering experience throughout the therapeutic process. She uses play therapy for young children, and strengths-based, psychodynamic psychotherapy with cognitive behavioral techniques for older children, adolescents and adults. Sarah feels it is truly a privilege to help people get through their challenges and hopefully help them reach their full potential.
